Description: The Never-To-CAC Collection. A typical strike for 1901 includes some softness over the central areas, most notably at the eagle's breast feathers. Nevertheless, potent luster still traverses the fields beneath the mellow patina. A fairly wide band of orange toning mixes with cobalt around the periphery and significantly enhances the visual appeal. Although Philadelphia struck nearly 7-miillion silver dollars in 1901, very few have survived in Uncirculated condition and the issue has a notorious (and deserved) reputation as an extreme grade-rarity within the series.
