Description: The words "gold" and "1911-D" used in the same sentence typically conjures up visions of series keys, but the 1911-D Saint is not at all rare in any but the extremely high grade levels. Here we have a superbly struck example that also displays pretty butternut golden hue, just about ideal for the type. A trivial scrape on the knee and an abrasion in the obverse upper right field are powerless to detract against the onslaught of dramatic mint luster.
