Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1911-D Strong D PCGS MS-64 CACCAC
Lot Number: 235
Description: J.H. Collection. 317 graded MS-64, 59 higher at PCGS. Both sides have become pleasantly draped, predominantly, within orange-gold hue that displays traces of carbon-powder grey, especially in the reverse left field. The extensive and precise detailing proves the coin was struck off of fresh dies, which also had the responsibility of erupting a bold, strong "D" mintmark on the reverse. It might prove challenging to locate a more visually appealing representative of this, THE key issue within the Indian Quarter Eagle series, but the same consignor, incredibly, has graciously provided the auction with two additional examples. The cataloger found only minimal, discreet abrasions, none of which would bar this frosty specimen from premium consideration.
