Description: Partly due to the aesthetically pleasing design, and partly due to the connection to the most famous battle of the American Civil War, the Gettysburg half-dollar has always been popular with collectors, and even "very gem" examples are highly approachable for most collectors. Here is an exquisitely shimmering, ultra-white example with resounding luster and no lack of visual appeal. Meade's lapel and lower jaw display a couple of small abrasions, leaving the balance of the surface relatively free from intrusions.
