Description: 94 graded PR-64, 100 higher at PCGS. The surface has become deeply saturated beneath a thick carpet of indigo-green, violet and lime-cobalt hues, with a pretty splash of magenta showing at the obverse center and more broadly at the reverse center. Details are sharply struck and the quality seems a bit nicer than PR-64 at first blush, although prudent examination of the reverse finds an abraded area beneath "IM'. While not a great rarity, the population of the 1880 dime is not at all prevalent at the better proof grade levels.
