Lot Title: 1925-D PCGS MS-65+
Lot Number: 702
Description: 16 graded MS-65+, 13 higher at PCGS. 1925-D has long been recognized as one of the premier strike-rarities within the series, and for that matter, just finding one with pleasing eye-appeal can be a towering challenge. This coin represents one possible answer. It was struck on a highly acceptable planchet, albeit by the usual worn dies, with some erosion quite visible near the rims, especially beneath the denomination. Nevertheless, it offers gorgeous satiny luster and bright aluminum-white character. The primary motifs have been bought up as well as is ever seen for the date, such that even the bison's horn and shoulder offer bold relief. Look far and wide and it'll prove a challenge to find a nicer example placed at the intersection of passable details and excellent surface luster.
