Description: 3 graded MS-65+ RD, 10 higher at PCGS. Shallow "N" is considered the scarcer of the two reverse types for 1870, and represents the older reverse hub, soon replaced by the "bold N" more often seen. Substantially mint-orange overall, only isolated portions of the highest relief areas disclose an occasional splash of bluish-brown toning, as this remarkable specimen has only barely begun to tone down from full brilliance. A minute corrosion spot directly above the shield on the reverse is no cause for concern, and is mentioned only for accuracy.
