Description: S/S mintmark. 382 graded MS-65, 82 higher at PCGS. Although a sustainable quantity of 1888-S silver dollars register at the "gem" level, the population report is worth quoting due to the paucity of better examples. Here is a minimally abraded representative that features a nicely repunched mintmark. An interesting melange of almond-grey, coral and teal-bronze hues shimmers over the obverse, while the reverse displays a much more deeply saturated pattern of copper-rose, denim-grey and crimson-gold over delightful luster. The final "8" barely shows, perhaps due to debris on the die.
