Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1886 PCGS MS-67 CACCAC
Lot Number: 526
Description: J and B Consignment. VAM-6 we believe, possibly struck off of early dies since the neck does not show any evidence of the clashed "n" that appears on later struck examples. The VAM reference shows a coin with no die break at the date, but here, we see the die crack from the "1" to the point of the neck very specifically, and the VAM reference also states that this is a diagnostic of the variety. Confusing! At any rate, the quality is nothing short of sensational for a coin graded MS-67, as utterly gleaming cotton-white surfaces exude practically overlapping bands of luster and a superbly smooth, problem-free appearance. Bothersome abrasions are never to be found, although a pair of parallel linear marks intermittently play across the upper curls of Liberty's hair.
