Description: 78 graded MS-64, 14 higher at PCGS. A million 1902-S double-eagles were struck, and a high survival rates makes it a generally common date.... provided one is not speaking of examples beyond the "choice" level. At MS-64, the population abruptly plummets, and a meager handful grade higher at PCGS. A trifle pale overall, this example still exhibits lovely, bright orange-gold color and has become absolutely deluged with intense, lustrous brilliance. Extremely well struck right down to the center of each of the peripheral stars.
