Description: 58 graded MS-64, 16 higher at PCGS. The second-year issue 1908-D without question qualifies as a grade-rarity within the Indian ten series, and the five-digit price tag on "gem" examples burdens the availability of any accurately graded MS-64 specimen. Here is just such a coin, free from major (or even moderate) abrasions and showing zero copper spots. A hint of lime-green encroaches upon the edge of either side, joined by some royal golden iridescence within the reverse fields. Considering the shallow hub details for the 1908, this appears to be a very nicely struck example, with especially notable delineation at the eagle's shoulder. Faint, sweeping hairlines seem likely to be the grade-limiting factor.
