Description: And Then... Collection. Large head. The so-called "large head" looks similar to the "small head" quarter eagle, except that the first three curls atop Liberty's portrait mound higher, and the forecurl pushes a bit further into the field than for the "small head" subvariety. Minimal actual cartwheel effect remains for this faintly rubbed example, although a narrow ribbon of sparkling luster can be seen zipping through the peripheral devices. Powerfully struck and well detailed for the type, especially as viewed from the reverse.
