Description: The Mastodon Collection. Overton-118a. Oddly enough, another O-118a appears in today's sale, but this example of the same die-marriage comes off of even later dies. Exciting! A couple of raised bumps on the neck indicate die gouges, and an extremely fine die crack now connects TED STAT on the reverse. However, despite the advanced stage of the dies, this is a highly lustrous example, showing about a third of the obverse, and fully half of the original reverse luster. Few splashes of tobacco-grey fling toward the outer obverse, while the reverse has become more thoroughly splattered by similar colors.
