Description: Kansas City Collection. Mintage: 3-million "Closed 3" estimated (by Snow) of the 11.6 million total for 1873. 11 graded MS-65 RD, 10 higher at PCGS. Eagle Eye photo-seal sticker. The substantially smaller mintage of "closed 3" logotype cents of 1873 ensures its scarcity over the more common "open 3", and examining the minimal gap between the balls of the digit confirms attribution. An outstanding example, potential bidders have little to gain by waiting for a "better example" given that this exquisite jewel rebounds against the ceiling for grade. The surfaces exude fantastic copper-gold patina with ruby accents waiting near the rims. A full four-diamond strike further ensures the desirability of this memorable jewel.
