Description: Captain Jack Collection. 107 graded MS-65, 5 higher at NGC. The date of 1891 seldom comes to mind as a "(semi-)key" to the series. It isn't difficult to locate in grades beneath the present "gem" level, but good luck trying to exceed the quality seen here. This is an unusually pretty silver dollar, obviously plucked out of an album at some point since the peripheral areas display lovely bronze toning that frames the central devices beautifully. Very well struck and free from abrasions, with an exceptional amount of luster to spare.
