Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1798 Heraldic PCGS F-15
Lot Number: 303
Description: Bolender-22, BB-104. "8" in the date touches the bottom edge of the portrait, and the final star rests about a millimeter from the end of the bust. The obverse die was mated to only one other reverse, and is easily attributed in this case by noting the significant break at 12:00, indicative of impending failure. While a few premium mint-state examples of the very scarce B-22 do exist, the vast majority are circulated, many moderately to heavily so, as exemplified by the present Fine-15. Pewter-grey dominates the surface, relieved by skirting charcoal accents. Random, near-invisible pin scratches take the place of bagmarks as grade determinants.
