Lot Title: Ancient Greece - Six silver Tetradrachms certified by NGC
Lot Number: 1
Description: Here is a handsome offering of five Seleucid Kingdom silver pieces, all certified by NGC. With only one duplication, all are silver tetradrachms, including: Philip I (VF, decent centering but steely highlights), Antiochus VII (VF, rather well centered on an evenly oval flan), a second Antiochus VII (Ch XF, beautiful centering on a near-round flan with attractive smoke-grey texture and only a couple of edge serrations), Antiochus VII posthumous issue of Kingdom of Cappadocia (XF, fully present on a slightly oversized flan with acceptable surface texture and a few minor tool marks), and Alexander I )XF, essentially all details make it onto the flan with some tooling evident). A final Kingdom of Macedon piece rounds out the selection: Alexander III (Ch F, outstanding relief but centered slightly off a medium oval flan). Six coin lot.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
