Lot Title: 1794 O-101A NGC VG-10
Lot Number: 825
Description: Overton-101a. Presuming it is in the most common die-state, O-101a can most easily be verified by looking at the die-crack on the reverse that nearly bisects the area between "D S". Though deemed the most common die-marriage for 1794, it is very popular collectors who follow the logic that it was the first half-dollar variety struck, although the precise emission order of eleven varieties for 1794 remains under debate. While the rim on the obverse isn't quite complete, Liberty's tresses offer a surprising amount of intricacy despite obvious, heavy wear. The eagle's left (observed) wing and tail feathers even display some individual feather details. Minor incidental abrasions and ticks are of no concern at the upper "very-good" grade level.
