Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1917-D Type 1 MS-63 FH, and a 1924-D MS-65, both NGC
Lot Number: 757
Description: It might be tempting to claim that 1917-D has "dull" luster, but remember that early strikes for any of the type-1 quarters tend to have strong matte texture, and one gets at least a partial reason why this specimen lacks pizazz. However, each side has developed toning, and the obverse is decorated by rather decent rust-gold accents. 1924-D is underrated at the gem level and this typically uneven example features weaker digits in the date and incomplete head detail. Examining further reveals several prominent die-cracks that suggest impending die failure. Two coin lot.
