Description: 44 graded MS-65, 15 higher at PCGS. Terribly common in all circulated grades right up through lower mint-state, the 1858 suddenly becomes elusive at the gem level, although it remains one of the few dates with some availability as a "no motto" type in rarified air. Bright, untoned and utterly beaming with silvery whiteness, this specimen leaves nothing to be desired at MS-65. Even the strike quality, so often mundane for the 7.4-million mintage, features intricate precision not often seen.
