Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1887 PR-64, and an 1888 PR-65 CAC, both PCGS
Lot Number: 631
Description: 1887 may be in content as a proof, because the rims are strongly beveled and strike quality is just not like the well-detailed examples usually seen. An intriguing coin with amber-orange peripheries, the PCGS slab insert inhibits examination, but perhaps the edge is polished as would be the case of a true proof. Intriguing, indeed! And although better struck, 1888 similarly looks almost like a normal striking, again leaving the polished edge of the planchet to decide the proper attribution. Of course, both 1887 and 1888 are difficult to attribute, and when all is said and done, these are lovely either way as a two coin lot.
