Description: Patrician Collection. Atypical for the grade (for 1955 doubled-die cents), the surface does not display the expected darker stains, and indeed, each side exhibits pleasing violet iridescence. One might suspect the coin didn't reach NGC's "choice" parameters due to modestly weak luster. On the other hand, the surface seems unusually free from contact, as these famous varieties did enter circulation, and most display at least moderate abrasions from coin-to-coin contact. A velvet-laden example that will seem slightly nicer than MS-62 BN at first glance.
