Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1875-CC and 1878-S Trade, both UNC details, as described
Lot Number: 347
Description: J. S. P. Collection. Either has been purportedly removed from a "UNC/improperly cleaned" holder per the accompanying slab inserts. That being said, the fleeting hairlines seen for 1875-CC (type I / II) are utterly innocuous, the most telltale sign that anything's amiss being a hazy area toward the obverse upper left. This is a truly impressive Carson City that flaunts an unusually sharp reverse against a typically struck obverse. 1878-S (type II / II) features intriguing semi-prooflike character and a very good strike, but also just barely too many hairlines to permit a straight grade. Two coin lot.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
