Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1798 Heraldic PCGS XF-45
Lot Number: 333
Description: Bicameral Collection. Bolender-20, BB-102, R.5. B-20 is a legitimately rare die-marriage for which there are very few survivors graded above the present XF-45. Simplest attribution comes about by first noting the prominent rim break beneath the eagle's tail. Evidently, this is die-state III with a die break extending vertically from between "RI" on the reverse. These die defects undoubtedly contribute the scarcity of B-20, as the reverse die most assuredly failed after limited usage. While mildly lustrous, the obverse toning paints an irregular vision for that side as steely Navy-blue and graphite hues mingle, while the reverse displays mostly honey-grey. Boldly detailed.
