Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1913 PCGS MS-64
Lot Number: 307
Description: 381 graded MS-64, 16 higher at PCGS. The population report serves to suggest how much more the collector will pay for a coin graded just a point higher than MS-64. 1913 double-eagles from any mint are elusive, but the Philadelphia issue proves to be particularly adept at evading the loftiest grades. The example at hand, a little indecisively struck on the obverse yet fully lustrous, shows an interesting and somewhat erratic admixture of cyan, lime-gold and orange throughout either side. One tick in the obverse left field bears mention, but overall abrasions are limited to diminutive size.
