Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1836 NGC MS-61
Lot Number: 195
Description: McCloskey 4-C. "1" in the date is perceptibly taller than the other digits, and "5" in the denomination is centered under the feather just above it. Sculpted out in beautiful relief, details spring out nicely from the surrounding fields, brought up by a decent strike that will be deemed more than adequate for MS-61. Also unusual for the grade, the surfaces truly "feel" mint-state, with no noticeable discoloration of the high-relief design elements. Indeed, the only grade-determining factor that can be readily noticed is the threshold of vague, whispery hairlines and the presence of almost-there abrasions in the fields,. Not even one mark has any noticeable singular effect, and the rich, royal-gold toning couldn't be more pleasant. All in all, a pleasing example at the NGC grade.
