Lot Title: 1834 Classic Head NGC AU-55

Description: McCloskey-A. The "large head" obverse has the "4" very close to a lower curl, and on the reverse, "M" in AMERICA" completely lacks one of the diagonals. Small head sub-types are more common but the reverse seen here seems to be the most plentiful marriage with the McCloskey-A obverse. The obverse fields are a little flashy whereas the fields on the reverse are rather strongly abraded for AU-55, encompassing a couple of random old pin-scratches. As demanded of a near-mint grade, there is plenty of detail to enjoy, highlighted by gentle butterscotch accents on the high points.
