Lot Title: 1815 PCGS XF-40
Lot Number: 715
Description: The No Land Consignment. Browning-1 is the only die-marriage for 1815, with no clash marks seen here. Sharp motifs, aside from inevitable loss of finer definition to wear, are the hallmark of this slightly subdued example, as traces of segmentation may still be viewed inside all obverse stars, and the cascading hair curls retain bold definition. Individual feathers are present for the eagle's plumage, although the talons are a little blunt. Each side has become nicely framed by deeper ebony accents, no doubt from album storage, although the colorless palette incorporates only shades of slate-grey, graphite and pewter tones. A pleasing example with merely a few delicate abrasions associated with the "extremely fine" level of circulation.
