Lot Title: 1861 Type 2 Liberty quarter-eagle AU details/cleaned, and a 1914-D Indian-Head quarter eagle MS-61+, both NGC
Lot Number: 503
Description: 1861 type-2 was struck from a strongly clashed obverse die, and the cleaning hardly warrants mention given isolated patches of glossy texture. A sensational strike brought up all the details for 1914-D, including a hugely elevated mintmark, and the surface overall seems to be less "noisy" than average for the type, at MS-61+. I once bet a butcher that he couldn't reach the meat on the top shelf, but he replied "No, the steaks are too high". Two coin lot.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
