Description: Bert Davies Collection. Noteworthy as a rarity in mint-state, the 1892-S might best be approached near that level since there is a sizable elevation in value between the better AU grades and the next level. Scattered friction suggests light wear in the fields and on the highpoints, but is somewhat concealed by and even layer of champagne-grey, offset by unexpectedly strong, sparkling luster at the extreme periphery of each side. Nicely struck and a very difficult silver dollar at AU-53.
