Description: Incomparable, shimmering quicksilver luster weaves a magic spell over the entire surface, grabbing hold of the viewer's attention immediately, and nearly rendering technical considerations moot. Nevertheless, a closer look at the surface reveals a number of tiny contact points and abrasions that preclude a "gem" grade. While not struck with absolute precision, the sharpness is more than adequate for 1892, which is one of the dates often seen indifferently produced, even in better grades. It's all about the luster, folks.
