Description: Ready To Retire Collection. Mintage: 1245. A bit unusual for the era, only very modest contrast shows on the obverse, even though Liberty's portrait displays unmistakable alabaster texture. The contrast on the reverse seems very slightly stronger, although in no case would a "cameo" designation make sense. The 1892 more often than not will fall shy of such designation, as a brilliant aspect seems to be the norm for the date. Deeply struck and almost fully detailed, the central obverse barely misses perfection. Delicate molten-gold sheen lingers over the rims and gently shades the outer fields of either side, and contributes pleasant framing effect to the design.
