Description: In spite of slithering, brilliant white luster overall, 1878-CC features flashy brilliance within the fields, creating a strong prooflike aspect. The grade doesn't quite reach the "choice" level because of the strongly abraded cheek and some trivial ticks within the fields. 1899 displays slightly flat luster as is often seen for 1899 and great sharpness on the reverse, although the central obverse seems to be slightly unfocused. White examples only within this two coin lot.
