Description: Jewelled Claw Collection. It is entirely possible that this is actually a proof striking, and it might well be worth the new owner's effort to submit it for re-certification, as we have compared die characteristics to known proof examples and believe it matches up well to that format. Naturally, the "star"/"DMPL" combination proffered by NGC only fuels the argument, as the fields gleam with amazing reflectivity that shimmers black against the incredibly well textured golden devices. The EdgeView holder does permit viewing of the edge to some extent, but it is difficult to ascertain whether the reeds are as deeply cut as they should be on a true proof striking. An astounding little piece of eye-candy regardless, with unlimited eye-appeal and tantalizing speculative possibilities (scotia).
