Lot Title: Lot of four certified Massachusetts Bay paper exonumia
Lot Number: 1
Description: An unusual quartet of historic currency-related items comprise this group, each safely protected within a PMG holder, and all are net-graded between VF30 and VF35, with such fine points in "grade" rather irrelevant given the far greater historic interest offered. First is "40-pounds" from 22 Day of Dec 1770, bearing 6% Interest and titled "Comm'tte WAR". Second is a 6% Interest Treasury Certificate, in the sum of 10-pounds 57, dated Dec 1st, 1777. Next is February 5 1780 "Lottery" 6% Interest note, in the amount of 15-puonds. Last is February 5, 1780 "Lottery, Class the Fourth" . An historical grouping that simply requires in-hand examination, as merely listing the contents fails to do justice to the four note lot.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
