Lot Title: 1907-D PCGS MS-64
Lot Number: 955
Description: The F. Raphael Collection. 64 in MS-64 and only 44 higher at PCGS. With the assigned MS-64 grade one expects to see some contact mark or lack of luster that holds the coin back from Gem status, but the current 1907-D Barber half-dollar, while so graded, does not seem to have such a detrimental attribute. Both the obverse and reverse are well struck, booming with luster, and have no major contact marks worth mentioning. Annealing chatter on the obverse portrait might be the only reason PCGS held the grade back, but this is as struck, so look for some bidders to have upgrade consideration on their minds. Lot inspection is highly recommended (ls).
