Description: The 1892-S half-dollar does exist in prooflike format, and even ten points of wear fails to completely eradicate somewhat flashy fields for the present stone-grey example. These dies must have been carefully prepared for the first strikings of the new series in 1892. The visual appeal cannot be missed, as this example features threads of pleasing orange lining peripheral elements on the obverse, while the reverse features consistently attractive greyish patina with only light golden-orange nuances.
