Lot Title: Eight Capped Bust half-dollars, XF-AU

Description: The Before Collection. A group of reeded-edge capped-bust half-dollar type coins comprises this octet, and every single one offers a great amount of detail, but there are some problems to be noted. We present them as follows: 1837 (AU/severely cleaned, looks better in steely gunmetal tones but cleaned to the point of removing all luster), 1837 (AU/cleaned, nearly very nice but strongly wiped across the lower half of the obverse), 1837 (XF-45, nice luster), 1838 (AU/cleaned, actually touch-polished but still retains luster), 1838 (XF/minor surface damage, white with some luster but also a few small obverse digs), 1838 (XF/cleaned, excessively white and chalky), 1838 (VF, excellent original and probably choice), and 1839 (VF, mauve-grey). Eight coin lot.
