This is the so-called "small date" variety and it appears to be less common than the "large date" examples more often seen (although "narrow date" is really a more descriptive term). Extremely strong quality with neither copper spots nor carbon flecks, and obviously non-altered since the coin remains sealed within the original plastic bubble, with the ribbon also enclosed.
