Lot Title: 1935 PCGS MS-67 CACCAC
Lot Number: 790
Description: VT Aerostyle Collection. 157 graded MS-67, 19 higher at PCGS. The Philadelphia mint was not above the notion of using dies to near-extinction, and the present 1935 shows some significant evidence of advanced die wear, including noticeable orange-peel effect on the neck and in the field beneath the bison's chin. Interestingly, there are also signs of clashed dies that were somewhat removed through polishing from previous strikings. A delightful "superb Gem", this specimen exhibits highly attractive peppermint-blue and violet-grey toning over an intensely lustrous surface, replete with fine, shimmering flowline luster toward the rims. The population report suggests that the issue is not rare within this exact grade, but does show that higher graded examples are very rare, with 18 graded MS-67+ and only a single MS-68 example exceeding the quality of this example, according to PCGS.
