Outstanding effort on the part of the consignor has resulted in creation of a Buffalo nickel collection that will have tremendous appeal to collectors who appreciate the challenge of such a set in the "very fine" to "about uncirculated" range. Dispensing with missing pieces, the cataloger first notes missing pieces as 1913-S type-2, 1923-S type-2, 1918/7-D, 1921-S, 1924-S, 1926-S, 1927-S, and the 3-legged variety. What IS present, however, demands careful attention as there are so many highlights. The following may prove to be of interest: 1914-D (VF), 1917-D (AU), 1917-S (VF-XF), 1918-D (VF-XF), 1918-S (VF), 1919-D (XF), 1919-S (XF-AU), 1920-S (VF), 1924-D (XF), 1925-S (VF), and a number of uncirculated examples from 1930 on, plus 1938-D/D (incorrectly labeled "D/S") by the consignor.
