Description: Type-1/1. Remarkable sculpting of the fine details immediately proclaims proof status, reinforced by the brightly mirrored fields. This is a non-cameo striking that has fully brilliant surfaces, made all the more brilliant by an old cleaning that has left behind some hairlines, resulting in the PR-61 grade. Bronze tone has started to return to the obverse rim and manages to drape partially into the extreme peripheral fields of the reverse. This obverse proof die is easily recognized by the die scratch in the lower drapery, and was mated to two reverse dies for all Trade dollars of the date.
