Description: Frequently overlooked due to its reputation as a "hoard" date, 1908 No Motto is readily available even at the present MS-66, but for many collectors, it remains popular nevertheless as the affordable alternative to the true "first date of the series' 1907 issues. Attractive multi-point luster booms off this sparkling gold example, but the cataloger is compelled to note a delicate scratch over Liberty's right (observed) shoulder, and a shallow scrape beneath the ends of her tresses.
