Description: The Lakewood Collection. 34 in MS-60 and 272 higher at PCGS. All coins tell a story, but this Uncirculated 1893-CC double eagle would have a more interesting tale than most. From an original mintage of only 18,402 coins, this PCGS MS-60 example has original color along with great cartwheel luster. Small abrasions litter the wear-free surface, typical for a coin likely spirited away in a mint bag for many years. A great example for any collector of branch mint gold looking for an example of the final year of coin production from the Carson City Mint (ls).
