Description: Roman Powers Collection. The dies must have been used to the point of exhaustion as strong flowline texture encroaches upon the entire periphery of the reverse, creating visually appealing coarseness that's just about ideal for a hefty, frontier gold coin. Caramel gold overall, the surface exerts practically ideal color upon the eye, and although each side has become heavily peppered by circulated abrasions, they are so evenly distributed as to fade into the background. Truly a nifty coin whose scarcity is on par with the other San Francisco issues of the 1860s.
