Lot Title: 1915 NGC MS-65
Lot Number: 243
Description: 39 graded MS-65, zero higher at NGC. For a gold coin at the "Gem" grade level, even a sunken-relief Indian, one expects a lot of pizzazz, which is delivered in spades by this premium certified example. Lovely, coruscating luster illuminates the fields with bright golden texture, especially on the obverse, where the shimmering effect ripples attractively across the fields. Each of the eagle's feathers has been carefully sculpted by the dies, and both talons display clear segmentation. Collectors tend to aggregate the 1915 emission along with the other "common" dates, but as is evident from the population report, a finer piece is not presently available from NGC, since MS-65 represents the highest grade ever conferred by that grading service.
