Description: Shawl Consignment. Type I / II, normal reverse (not the DDR). 15 graded MS-62, 13 higher at NGC. Unlike other die combinations for 1876-CC, this die-pair tends to produce beautifully detailed examples, and examination with a glass finds no shortage of definition throughout. Sheaves of wheat feature individually delineated kernels, and only isolated, minute areas of softness may be found within the eagle's plumage. The eye becomes immediately taken in by the dark, dusky rose-grey and denim-blue tone seen on both sides, but potent luster still manages to struggle through the thick blanket of patina.
