Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1841 PCGS MS-62
Lot Number: 365
Description: 23 graded MS-62, 26 higher at PCGS. Suitably detailed for the grade, an attractive strike brought up the major details at Liberty's head, as well as the eagle's talons to a near-spectacular degree of sharpness. Due to considerable patination along the lower half of the obverse and much of the reverse, a strong lamp is required to bring to the fore the surprising reflectivity that emanates from the fields and suggests this may have been a fully semi-prooflike coin upon release. A few scratches and irregular marks must be denoted within the obverse left field, joined by a small contact point beneath the eagle's beak and several more above his head.
