Description: Mintage: 55,000. 13 graded MS-62, 13 higher at PCGS. All branch mint type-2 gold dollars are far scarcer than their Philadelphia contemporaries, with 1855-O probably the most accessible of the non-Philly issues. That said, as the population report explains, it is a conditional rarity that is extremely elusive above the present MS-62. Bright, flashy yellow fields offer somewhat reflective luster and a generally clean appearance, except for an abraded portion of the obverse lower right field. The reverse seems fully choice on its own.
