Description: Shop Talk Collection. 1 graded AU-53, 57 higher at PCGS. The 1909-O has an infamous reputation as a grade-rarity within the Barber quarter series, as it is highly elusive at the upper AU grade levels, and mint-state examples prove to be just about impossible to locate. After the "big three", this is the fourth key to the series. Extensive luster may be suggestive of upgrade over the assigned AU-53, but one must admit that the surface exhibits a curious, slightly "washed out" appearance, nearly devoid of color aside from superficial peach-grey nuances. Contact marks amount to very little, aside from a couple of minor ticks impressed into the neck.
